Having previously
completed a very successful year long run in the first UK tour of Miss
Saigon playing the role to critical acclaim. Prior to this he played
the role of Young Ben in Follies at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
Hugh has also played the role of Simon in the 2001 UK tour of Jesus
Christ Superstar, understudied and played the role of Judas on numerous
occasions. Other theatrical roles include Clopin, Notre Dame Dé
Paris (Dominion Theatre, London); Apostle and understudy and played
the role of Simba, The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre, London, 1998-2000);
Apostle and understudy Simon Zealotes, Jesus Christ Superstar (UK Tour
1998-1999).
In addition
to his theatre work, Hugh has appeared in several TV shows in including
The Bill, Inspector Wycliffe, Casualty, Michael Barrymore's My Kind
Of Music, My Kind of People, Tiswas and Box Pops. He has also appeared
in the film, Frenchman’s Creek.
Musically, Hugh has been in pop videos for Mis-Teeq (B With Me*). He
also has been involved with weekly performances at London’s Café
dé Paris, with the KLR (Kitsch Lounge Riot) band. Hugh has also
appeared on numerous radio projects for Radio One and Radio Gemini.
Perhaps Hugh’s biggest claim to fame is his winning performance
as Mr. South West 1994.
